Lady GaGa’s binoculars to peek at royals

ECCENTRIC Lady GaGa is such a huge fan of the Royal Family she is trying to SPY on the Queen during a visit to the UK.

The Poker Face singer has invested in a pair of expensive binoculars to find out what goes on behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace.

GaGa, 25, made a special request to staff at the posh Lanesborough Hotel in West London to ensure her luxury suite has the best possible view of the Palace.

The five-star luxury hotel is close by but only a few of the best rooms actually allow guests to see the royal residence.

GaGa is in Britain for an appearance on the Jonathan Ross show and a private gig. And she has been glued to her hotel window at every opportunity to try to catch a glimpse of the Queen or Prince Phillip.  Read Full

Gary Barlow: I was depressed for three years

Gary Barlow has revealed he suffered from depression for three years after Take That split up.

The award-winning singer-songwriter piled on five stone and avoided being snapped – even at his own children's christenings.

He told Observer Magazine: "I used to heavily disguise myself, with a hat and everything. I was overweight, I wasn't feeling great. I was embarrassed to be me, to have people recognise me.

"It wasn't not being famous any more, or even not being a recording artist. It was having nobody who needed me, no phones ringing, nothing to do.

The X Factor judge described how he was desperate to write another chart smash on his "lucky" white piano.

"Every hit I'd had I'd written on this piano. Within six months of this not happening any more, this piano drove me mad.   Read More

Thomas L. Friedman Warns: 'Young People Need To Be Paying Attention'

Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Thomas L. Friedman has been talking about foreign policy with his friend Michael Mandelbaum for two decades. Over the past couple of years, though, they started to notice something different about their conversations.

"Every time we started off talking about the world, we'd end up talking about America," Friedman recalled when he spoke with MTV News recently. "And we realized basically that America — its fate, future, vigor, vitality — was really the biggest foreign-policy issue in the world."

The two friends recognized the enormity of the role the U.S. plays in the world — for good or bad. "We're kind of the tent pole that holds up a lot of the global economy," Friedman said. "That tent pole buckles or frays, your kids won't just grow up in a different America; they'll grow up in a very different world. So there's a lot at stake."   More Read

For Jackman, who stars as a reluctant father and washed-up boxer in the movie Real Steel, opening Oct. 7, the screen ban is less about avoiding the pitfalls of the media age then giving his kids a little downtime.  More
