LUDHIANA: Dengue has claimed one more life, pushing the count of patients succumbing to the disease in this season to six. The number of people suffering dengue and admitted to city hospitals has also crossed 1,000. While the city suffers, the health department is continuing in denial and dealing with striking employees. According to health department, the count of dengue cases this season is still 163 across the district and no deaths have been recorded.
Dr Daljeet Singh, principal of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), said late on Sunday, 25-year-old Pawan Kumar, a resident of Ladowal died in the hospital. "Pawan was admitted on September 20 and tested positive for dengue,'' said Dr Singh, adding that they have 343 patients from the city and on Sunday 50 more were admitted. Read More
