Britain bakes on the hottest October day for 100 YEARS... and there's still days of sunshine to come!

Hot on the heels of the warmest end to September on record, today has officially been declared Britain’s most scorching October day in more than a century. 


Just four weeks before the clocks go back for winter, Britain is in the middle of an Indian summer like no other with sizzling temperatures expected to continue into early next week.

Senior meteorologist with MeteoGroup confirmed today's top temperature of 30c (86f) in Yorkshire with Gravesend, Kent not far behind reaching 29.9c (85.82f).

The hottest day prior to today's sweltering heat was June 27 when highs of 33.3c (91.9f) were set at the Olympic Park in London.  Read More
