Cameron calls for 'bulldog spirit' as he insists: We can turn this ship around in tough assessment of economy

Britain needs to ‘show the world some fight’ and prove it is not finished as a major economic power, David Cameron has declared.


The Prime Minister urged squeezed voters to show a bulldog spirit as he admitted the threat to the economy from the eurozone debt crisis is now as serious as the banking meltdown of 2008.


He said Britain had ‘been told we were finished before’ when it lost the Empire – and again when it was called the ‘sick man of Europe’ in the 1970s – but always bounced back.   Continue
