I Want My Lollipop (Now!)

I was negotiating with my four-year-old while driving from Chicago to New York.  I wouldn’t normally call it a “negotiation” but given the context — two kids in the back and me trying to have a conversation with my boss – that explanation will have to do.  I asked the kids to lower their volume.  My four-year-old made his demand: “I want a lollipop!” I replied: “You will get the lollipop if you keep quiet for the next 15 minutes.”
