KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police
searched a wooded area near a house where a 10-month-old Kansas City
girl disappeared from her crib but found no trace of the baby,
authorities said Wednesday.
"All we know absolutely is that there should've been a 10-month-old in that house and there wasn't," Capt. Steve Young of the Kansas City Police Department told reporters Wednesday morning.
Lisa was last seen when her mother put her to bed at their northern Kansas City home about 10:30 p.m. Monday. The search began about 4 a.m. Tuesday when her father returned home from work and discovered her missing.
Police discounted the notion that Lisa could have crawled away and are investigating the possibility that an intruder entered the home through a window and snatched her.
